NEWS: Barclay Given Third Line

By Chris McGrath

In a unanimous ruling, the state’s highest court allowed Assemblyman Will Barclay to run on the Independence Party Line in today’s special election—this according to The Post Standard.  Barclay will not only appear as on the Republican line, but on the Conservative and Independence Party line as well.  Today’s election stems from Senator Jim Wright’s resignation last month, leaving the 48th state Senate district seat vacant.  The party line has been up in air over the last month.  Both Barclay and his competitor, democrat Darrel Aubertine, have been competing for the line.  Each agrees the Independence Party line will be a pivotal factor in the election’s outcome.
