By Nergish SunavalaReporter Linda Greenhouse has accepted a buyout package from the New York Times. Greenhouse is best known for her coverage of the Supreme Court beat. The Times announced last week that it would have to eliminate a hundred jobs. Currently, the New York Times has a larger staff than any other American newspaper. Greenhouse in a phone interview with the Associated Press said that she was planning to retire in a few years anyway and the buyout offer came at an opportune moment. She has written multiple law review articles and a book while working for the New York Times. She won a Pulitzer Prize for her coverage of the courts in 1998.
